On his third release, Jamie Foxx hopes to recreate the success of his sophomore double-platinum chart topper Unpredictable. Not unfamiliar to guest-spots himself—think Foxx’s vocal on Kanye West’s “Gold Digger”—Intuition boasts a cavalcade of hip-hop heavyweights from T.I. to Lil Wayne, not to mention R&B’s current go-to guy, NeYo and production monolith Timbaland. It makes sense, then, that the bulk of Intuition plays it safe with slick production, even slicker beats, and enough cameos to give Robert Altman a run for his money. Even so, Foxx’s smooth voice is well suited for radio, and there are enough catchy jams here to make this a radio mainstay at the top of the year.
